The new “Bottle Shop”

Don’t get me wrong, Modelo beer and Don Julio tequila are great. But when I’m in Playa Las Tortugas I often feel something special is in order. I mean, this is an extraordinary place that deserves extraordinary beer and tequila!

In that spirit, we have launched the Playa Las Tortugas Bottle Shop. Our goal is to bring the enjoyment of excellent, small-batch, locally crafted tequila and beer to Playa Las Tortugas. We searched around and zeroed in on two favorites: Cascahuin tequila from the town of Arenal and Los Muertos beer from Puerto Vallarta. We have visited both places for tastings and loved them! So, we brought some back to make available to friends and visitors here in Playa Las Tortugas.

Yes, there is a very real risk we will drink our entire supply. But the hope is folks will be able to partake before we have to go resupply! We keep everything on hand so you can just let us know what you would like and we’ll deliver it to your villa. Which I guess makes tequila, beer, water, and coconuts the most readily available commodities here in Playa Las Tortugas! This place is perfect.

We made it a point to find delicious, pure beer and tequila that we can buy directly from the producers, in an effort to keep the profits local to help the community. We also looked for very small breweries and distilleries owned by individuals and families. Lastly, we sought beers and tequila that you can’t find in the US, and that are actually quite difficult to find anywhere in Mexico, much less in Zacualpan or Las Varas! All in the quest for a unique drinking experience.
